Design Miami/ Basel, the pioneering fair for collectable design, returned to the Herzog & de Meuron-designed building last month celebrating its 10th anniversary in the Swiss city of Basel.

The week of the show saw an incredible selection of 46 participating galleries presenting historical, 20th Century and newly commissioned works at the fair.

Satellite projects included the inaugural edition of the Design Curio platform in Basel, the debut of two vintage watch dealers and the second edition of Design at Large, curated by real estate developer and restaurateur Andre Balasz. His selection of monumental design works was on the ground floor to welcome visitors to Hall 1 Sud.

Within the show floor, Olson Kundig Architects’ ‘Outpost Basel’ Collectors lounge was the fair’s architectural statement reinforcing the conversation between sustainability and design.

Sponsor Swarovski Crystal Palace selected three extremely talented international design practices – Elaine Ng Yan Ling, Tomas Alonso and Studio Swine – to be awarded this year’s Designers of the Future, bringing inspiring installations with the aim to give new life to crystal.
