September 2018 - As a primary destination for design excellence, Design China Beijing is a brand new four-day trade design event in China’s capital. The inaugural Design China Beijing attracted 30,000 influential architects, interior designers, property developers, hotel groups, retail buyers, designers, press and design-savvy public to see and specify the very latest furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories, materials and conceptual installations from 80 leading international and domestic design brands and galleries
Objectives:
· To oversee a global communications plan for the first edition of Design China Beijing
· To promote and support brands and designers exhibiting at Design China Beijing
· Highlight Design China Beijing as a platform for Chinese design talent, in particular emerging designers and brands
· Secure international press attendance through outreach to local correspondents and hosted press trips
· Advise on local communication strategy format for press communications
· To work with Design China Beijing to assemble high quality visual assets to support the communications strategy in place
Strategy:
· Create a strategic media strategy to build awareness around Design China Beijing in key markets
· Advise on communications plan in collaboration with the local PR agency and develop a supporting media kit of assets
· Host international media from key markets to showcase the first edition of Design China Beijing
· Liaise closely with participating designers and brands to ensure high quality visual assets and exhibitor news is received directly
Results:
· Three press releases and an infographic
· Secured press trip attendance from high-level international publications based in Asia
· Achieved preview coverage in key markets
· Significant review coverage of the first edition
