Established in 1989, Oklahoma Contemporary Art Center
is the leading contemporary art exhibition space in Oklahoma City and plays a key role in the city’s arts and cultural landscape.
This fall 2019, Oklahoma Contemporary will open a 4.6-acre campus in Automobile Alley, near the core of the city’s revitalized downtown. The new building, designed by Elliott + Associate Architects, will house a 6,000 square foot main gallery presenting world-class exhibitions alongside locally resonant programming and educational initiatives.
The completion of the new campus will bridge the gap between the city’s growing demand for arts and culture through visual art exhibitions, performances, public programs, community-building initiatives, outdoor installations, and special events.
One of the hallmarks of Oklahoma Contemporary Art Center’s mission is their dedication to inclusivity. The new campus will enable the Art Center to continue to offer free programs and exhibitions as well as increase their outreach into underprivileged communities throughout the state through youth scholarships, art classes, and camps.
