Founded in 2012, House of Today is a non-profit organization that identifies, nurtures, mentors, curates, showcases and connects emerging Lebanese designers to create a relationship with design experts, regionally and globally.
Led by founder and chairwoman Cherine Magrabi Tayeb, House of Today is a platform for collaboration between Lebanon's most creative thinkers and the most promising members of its youth.
The concept for its 2018 Biennale: ‘ELEVATE, the Quest for Heightened Senses’, which will take place in Beirut from December 12th to December 28th, 2018 and will feature 21 contemporary Lebanese designers.
It will also include the first retrospective of furniture created by the modernist architect Khalil Khoury at Le Musee Sursock, Beirut. Presented by Bernard Khoury, a key figure of contemporary Lebanese architecture. In addition, journalist and critic Anne-France Berthelon will co-curate and present “Craftporn” - a series of lectures hosted by House of Today. Guest speakers will include Humberto Campana (Campana Brothers), Peter Marigold, Pascale Mussard, Evan Snyderman, Formafantasma and Bernard Khoury.
