Founded in Italy in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi, Artemide
is one of the leading and most innovative illumination brands in the world. Artemide’s Vice President & CEO, Carlotta de Bevilacqua is also an experienced designer who has carried out in-depth research in the field of light, introducing a “technological humanism” approach.
Based in Pregnana Milanese, Italy, Artemide has five manufacturing units across Europe and Canada, one glass-works, and an R&D centre. Artemide products are in permanent museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome. Artemide is renowned for its collaborations with iconic designers and architects including Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, Richard Sapper, Neri & Hu, Foster + Partners, Jean Nouvel, Herzog&de Meuron, Issey Miyake, Elemental and Bjarke Ingels Group to name but a few.
The company is moving towards the new frontiers of design where the core is no longer the product as such but new intelligence of light.
