December 2018 - Design Miami/ is a global forum and marketplace for design, where the world’s top galleries gather to present museum-quality exhibitions of twentieth and twenty-first century furniture, lighting and objets d’art. The fair’s fourteenth edition saw emerging contemporary talent meet historic masterworks, with a roster of 33 leading design galleries and 12 Curio presentations. Design Miami/ 2018 included special commissions of historical importance and strong sales and institutional acquisitions across vintage contemporary.
Objectives:
· Highlight Design Miami/ in the press as the most influential global design fair
· Emphasis Design Miami/ as a barometer of the design market as a whole
· Drive quality visitor traffic to the fair, including key US and International media and influencers
· Promote and support galleries, sponsors and satellites at Design Miami/
· Work with Design Miami/ to create compelling visual assets and manage the press office on-site
Strategy:
· Create a strategy based on the client’s brief for media outreach, press assets, on-site press management, sponsor liaison and social media content
· Maintain a proactive press office in the lead up to the fair to ensure coverage in international and long-lead titles
· Build on past years of on-site press management at the fair to run an efficient press office, oversee the press conference and liaise with Design Miami/ and gallerists on communications assets and opportunities
Results:
· Issued 5 press releases to over 3,000 media in 70 countries
· Achieved significant preview and review coverage in high-level publications in key markets
· 200 placements in print and online in The New York Times, Financial Times, Architectural Digest, Wallpaper*, The Art Newspaper and Monocle
· 490 journalists from 19 countries attended the fair
· Strong media attendance at key events including the press conference, vernissage and sponsor events
