"Design Miami is acquiring a more global accent"
Interior Design Magazine
Miami, FL

The eleventh edition of Design Miami/ which took place from 2-6 December 2015 in Miami, Florida, ended on a high note with robust sales and the highest attendance figures. The entrance to the fair featured UNBUILT, Design Miami’s first collaboration with an educational institution, designed by the students of Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). The global forum for design featured leading galleries specializing in collectable design from five continents presenting the most diverse selection of exhibits to date, with museum-quality collections, from furniture to delicate jewelry and architectural pavilions. In addition to the displays in the gallery program, other highlights of the fair included a broad range of partner collaborations including official automotive sponsor Audi collaborating with design duo Humans since 1982; Swarovski showcased a miniature sun made up of 2,880 custom-created crystals designed by Mexico City-based Fernando Romero Enterprise; Perrier-Jouët presented an installation by Japanese glass maker Ritsue Mishima and Fendi presented designs originally created but never realized by Italian designer Guglielmo Ulrich for the 1942 World’s Fair in Rome. The fair’s Satellite program included Belong. Here. Now., an interactive installation by Airbnb designed by Design With Company that featured a series of performances by emerging artists from across the world. Inside the fair itself, visitors could enjoy a full retail experience with the first Design Miami/ Market featuring a special capsule collection in collaboration with J. Crew; LIZWORKS with the Vik Muniz-designed HAPPY VIEW; ARTBOOK returned to the fair with a selection of art and design publications while DEAN & DELUCA offered gourmet items. San Francisco-based designer Yves Béhar was given the 2015 Design Visionary Award presented by Panerai and offered a narrative of his socially focused work at Design Miami/.
