Celebrating a quarter of a century, 100% Design continues to be the destination for architects and designers to source the latest products, uncover new interior design trends, and discover new talent. The 2019 edition featured striking installations, inspiring collaborations and innovative projects, these thought-provoking experiences pushed the boundaries of design.
Design Fresh a showcase of breakthrough talent scouted at major UK design degree shows was a standout feature of 100% Design. 30 emerging designers were chosen for their explorative ideas and original work. This year there was a major emphasis on using waste as a valuable resource to create products.
Insta-Interiors was another key installation, which focused on how we are increasingly inspired by the visual spaces we see on Instagram. Bringing together six leading industry creatives and designers, including 2LG, Matilda Goad, and Benjamin Kempton, each was asked to create cameo sets which embodied their personal Instagram’s and reflected their approach to interiors.
A Sense of Finland curated by Finnish/English designer Hanna Laikola, allowed visitors to experience the sounds, sights, touch, smell and taste of Finland in the middle of London. The specially built eco log house filled with calm sounds of the forest and timber floors sourced from the best quality Finnish wood, highlighted the Finnish philosophy that simple things make us happy.
