Intelligence World Trade Center Transportation Hub

The new World Trade Center Transportation Hub is finally (somewhat) open. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, Oculus suffered from delays and a four billion-dollar price tag to partially open this month. I’ve experience its transformation first hand having traveled through the station almost every day for more than two years. Seeing the station go through its many iterations, leading me through winding construction paths to find an exit, I am excited to experience the new hub.

When I walked through Oculus for the first time, the pristine marble and soaring curved steel ceiling is incredibly impressive. Panned by critics, I found the space to be a feat of engineering. While it may not be the prettiest from the outside, the sprawling public section is full of light and movement. But don’t be fooled, the space is still very much under construction with shops and food kiosks coming soon.
