The Aram Gallery’s exhibition showcasing ‘Unread Messages’, by creative agency Six:Thirty, investigates our connection to technology and the need to strike a digital balance. Groups of multidisciplinary designers from around the world aim to encourage a healthier relationship with communication technologies and manage the addiction many of us now face as a result of the ‘always on’ phenomenon.
Technology has both liberated and harmed us and what is most striking in the exhibition is the realization which dawns upon the viewer that although technology may have made our lives easier it has also left us missing out on so much more. We construct identities which are not our true selves “We see our dinners, concerts, once in a lifetime comets through 6 x 3 inch screens.”
