HOLLY HUNT Studio collaborated with American contemporary artist Paula Crown on two limited edition pieces which debuted during Frieze London this week, alongside a selection of Paula Crown’s new works, produced specifically for installation in the Holly Hunt London Showroom. To launch the collaboration, Holly and Paula were in conversation with art and design journalist, Caroline Roux, during Frieze Week’s West End Night, Thursday, in an event held at Holly Hunt, in Mayfair.
Guests listened while the collaborators, both Chicagoans, and well-connected through the American art, design and philanthropic communities, spoke of their conscious effort to merge the disciplines of art and design and to question our understanding of materiality in day-to-day life. The collaboration furniture pieces include a pedestal table in Nero Absoluto marble, with brass ‘Fractal’ inlay over a faceted pedestal base with brass floor plate as well as a side table, in Vetro Bianco marble, also with brass inlay of the artist’s design, over a brass road base. The presentation, ‘The Paula Crown Affair,’ will be on until mid-November 2015 at the Holly Hunt showroom, in Mayfair.
