Suspended above head height at The City Centre is a floral representation of London’s Public Gardens. Rebecca Louise Law creator of ‘Garten’ at Bikini Berlin earlier this year, took inspiration from 34 green spaces throughout London, choosing flower species reflective of each space in creating a floral display which is, quite literally, heads and shoulders above the rest.
Fresh flowers were used to create the piece in April of this year and allowed to dry out slowly in their City Centre location, making this display one of ever-evolving colour and texture.
In collaboration with Law, The City Centre has developed a City Garden map: a collection of the gardens from which Law derived inspiration in creating this piece. What better way to explore the historic and contemporary spaces for which London is famed?
The City Garden is open 10am-5pm, Mon-Sat until September 25th 2016.
