The innovative kitchen and bath retailer Pirch opened its first New York City location on May 21. The 32,000 square foot space is an interactive showroom that encourages customers to test each faucet, knob and showerhead before buying.
Jeffery Sears and Jim Stuart founded Pirch in 2010 with the premise to create a user-friendly and interactive approach to shopping for your home. Upon entering we were greeted by a welcoming staff and offered coffee and tea. The pleasant showroom has three floors with each dedicated to a specific area of the home. The main level showcases realistic kitchen vignettes and a meeting space. The lower level is dedicated to the bath with a wall of faucets and fittings.
The highlight of this space is a room devoted to the shower with a special app to turn each showerhead on and off. On the upper floor, grills and kitchen faucets are the stars. A cooking demo area allows users to test the ranges, pizza ovens and faucets with weekly classes taught by top chefs. Pirch also has a space for smaller living should visitors not have a second, luxurious home outside of the city.
Pirch is located at 200 Lafayette Street on the corner of Broome Street.
