The world of pattern and print has been spectacularly brought to life via an extraordinary retrospective of the Missoni brand at the Fashion & Textile Museum in London. Founded in 1953, Missoni is renowned for its iconic multicolored stripes and enviable Italian lifestyle.
Displays of patchworks and paintings sizzle alongside mannequins of technicoloured dream coats and dresses, as well as their elegant flooring range in collaboration with Bolon. Their influences are brought to the fore with paintings by leading 20th century European artists and the mixed usage of contemporary and traditional crafts which demonstrate their iconic ‘Made in Italy’ makers’ mark.
As the Spice Girls once sang, this show really is ‘zig a zig aaah’.
