This Summer John Lewis’ Oxford Street store’s rooftop has been transformed into a lively garden, with a pop-up restaurant and coffee shop. You can event enjoy yoga classes among the fresh herbs and sunlight.
When you arrive in front of John Lewis in Oxford Street, the massive industrial building is a far cry from what you will find on the roof. This expansive garden with potted trees, shrubbery, vegetables and herb garden entirely designed by Tony Woods is a colourful surprise.
The Gardening Society is an ideal place for an after work outing, you can enjoy a British Garden Julep cocktail whilst wandering among Esty designer’s stands and buy outstanding jewellery or home accessories.
Besides being such a relaxing place, the Pop-Up also celebrate modern British restaurant The Dairy, the first restaurant venue from street food favourite B.O.B’s Lobster and Shotgun, serving up a twist on the British barbecue.
On 31st August visitors can enjoy a gastronomic 4 course menu created by Sven-Hanson Britt, Masterchef finalist and Miele’s executive chef, with the promise of using products from the garden.
To sum up, if you want to relax after work or just enjoy a cocktail on a rooftop in central London, Society Gardening is the perfect vibrant garden to relax in. Gardening Society in association with Miele is open until 18th September.
