Known for his diverse art practice, John Latham's latest exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery is a fitting encapsulation of his life's work.
Spread across various rooms, his pluralistic interests are showcased through video installations, tapestry, paint, film, land art and more. Upon entering the gallery, viewers are faced with a looped screening of five of Latham's films. These films showcase collaged colours and flashing lights. Other interesting works include 'Time Base Roller', an installation that is set in motion every half an hour. Set in a large and airy room, the commanding work is the focus of all attention.
Alongside this exhibition, workshops and events are being held at Flat Time House, John Latham’s studio home. A mobile tour is also available for visitors connecting to the Serpentine Galleries' wifi service.
