What an incredible exhibition this was! From the moment you enter the V&A exhibition hall, with the words Fabric of India beaded across the entrance, you are absorbed into a vibrant, magical world of India. This exhibition takes the visitor on a journey through the country’s long and rich history, exploring the importance and use of textiles within a religious, courtly and daily context.
The selection of objects from the 3rd Century right up to the present day shows how each region in India has its own unique weaving and embroidery technique, all painstakingly done by hand. The exhibits are glorious for their colour, beadwork and patterns – the beauty of this show is captivating; it’s certainly not to be missed!
Open until the 10th January 2016.
