Eataly opened its second New York location at 4 World Trade Center in August. The shop is a massive market of Italian goods including more than 1,300 varieties of cheeses, fresh pasta, jarred sauces and spreads, and specially imported meats.
Compared to the Flatiron location, Eataly Downtown has similar restaurants and food counters but this location includes a wine bar, salad station, fresh pressed juices, and breakfast. The larger layout also features Foodiversità, a unique area to showcase live cooking demos and tastings. When I stopped in before heading to the office, the store was very quiet allowing plenty of time for me to peruse the endless assortment of pastries and Italian breads. I stopped for a cappuccino and croissant and enjoyed the views from the third floor that overlooks the 9/11 Memorial Reflecting Pools.
