Chef's Club – the restaurant in partnership with Food & Wine – has opened a casual restaurant in SoHo offering specialty dishes from some of the world’s best chefs.
The menu will rotate to offer different dishes from local & world renowned chefs. The current menu has items from Eggslut’s Alvin Cailan, a burger from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and a Ham & Cheese Parisien sandwich from Eric Kayser. Diners seeking lighter fare can try the Southern Roots Grain Bowl from Atlanta-based chef Linton Hopkins.
The space is designed by Fernando Santangelo (McCarren Hotel and Pool, Chateau Marmont). There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your lunch, with large windows exposing diners to the busy neighborhood outside.
Like Chefs Club the restaurant, the Counter was built on founder Stephane De Baets’ idea that a restaurant can follow a similar format as a radio station: featuring chef’s “greatest hits” as if it were a culinary playlist.
The result will have you wanting to hit “repeat” more than once.
