Entering its 7th year, the Lexus Design Awards 2019 is an international design competition that targets up-and-coming creators from around the world. Launched in 2013, the award seeks to foster the growth of ideas that contribute to society by supporting designers and creators whose works can help to share a better future.
The theme for the 2019 edition of the award is “Design for a Better Tomorrow” which tasked creatives to explore design that goes beyond the mastery of shape, form, and function to become a solution to overcome challenges.
This year, 6 finalists selected by a panel of international leaders in the worlds of architecture and design, including David Adjaye and Paola Antonelli will develop their prototype under the mentorship of renowned design professionals, with their works introduced to the design community at Milan Design Week at the Lexus Pavilion, an experiential exhibition space that Lexus will bring to Milan Design Week for its 12th year.
Lexus is a global leader in luxury vehicles. Since its debut in 1989, the brand has earned a worldwide reputation for high-quality products and a commitment to design, offering the best in innovative technology and craftsmanship.
