Founded in 2008, Kelly Behun Studio specializes in interiors, furniture and decorative accessories with a particular focus on creating customized environments unique to each client. Kelly Behun is considered an interior designer with the eye of a gallerist.
Known for drawing from her deep connections to the New York art world, Behun incorporates everything from bespoke furnishings and unique designer pieces to quirky accents and vintage finds in her projects. Prior to starting her own practice, Behun spent six years with Ian Schrager’s design team, working alongside Andree Putman and Phillipe Starck on hotels across the US.
This fall, Behun’s new collections will be featured in a unique stand-alone pop-up store at Barney’s New York. Behun will create an immersive environment inspired by seminal gallerist Holly Solomon, known for her pioneering approach to presenting art and design and a key proponent of the Pattern & Decoration Movement of the 1970’s and 80’s.
The shop will showcase accessories, textiles, accent pieces and furniture. Central to the collection will be a series of items created in collaboration with seminal artists Izhar Patkin and Kim MacConnel.
