ercol is one of the UK’s most iconic furniture brands. The company was established in 1920 in High Wycombe, the ‘chair-making capital of the UK’, and the company’s distinctive spindle-back seats and curved wood pieces are regarded as design classics. The longevity of the Windsor Range of furniture, which was first produced in the 1950s as part of the post-war Utility Scheme, bears testament to ercol’s enduring appeal. New versions of the famous collection are now available for a new generation under the ercol originals label. The iconic 392 Stacking Chair (first made in 1957) was re-issued by fashion designer Margaret Howell and ercol has also collaborated with Matthew Hilton, who created the elegant Treviso desk and Russell Pinch who designed the Holland Park Chair.
