André Fu is one of the world’s most sought-after architects. He’s best known for his work on major luxury hotels such as the Upper House in Hong Kong, Singapore’s Fullerton Bay Hotel and restaurants and bars at the Four Seasons, Seoul and the Gong Bar at the Shangri-La in London’s Shard.
Fu’s distinctive approach to interior architecture combines the rigorous pursuit of contemporary Asian aesthetics with his trademark understanding of proportion, light and space. His use of tactile materials such as solid timber, stone and lush textiles gives a distinctive and sumptuous style to his designs.
The latest phase in Fu’s career is the launching of a new brand – André Fu Living (AFL) – which will make his design philosophy tangible through a variety of products. The first product under the AFL brand is Fargesia, a bamboo-inspired eau de toilette created in collaboration with renowned perfume creator, Julian Bedel of Fueguia Patagonia 1833.
