SET IN STYLE- The Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels
This new exhibition on at The Cooper Hewitt will run until June 5th and is worth a detour if you are in New York. This is the most comprehensive exhibition ever organized of Van Cleef & Arpels’ masterworks reflecting the craft, innovation of the pieces complemented by never-before-seen drawings. When you arrive, you have the option of booking an iPad to accompany the visit, which is brilliant and gives expanded information. The exhibition also shows pieces worn by Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor and Eva Perón. My favourite pieces were in the Innovation section from the charming cigarette cases to the bags with hidden watches.
