WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL: HELSINKI

World Design Capital is an initiative of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design, an international non-governmental organization that aims to protect and promote the profession of industrial design. With more than half the world’s population now living in urban areas, design has become an increasingly important tool in making cities more attractive, more liveable, and more efficient. Held biennially, the World Design Capital initiative seeks to highlight the accomplishments of cities that are truly leveraging design as a tool to improve the social, cultural, and economic life of urban areas. Camron is proud to represent Helsinki, the Capital of Finland, as the World’s Design Capital for 2012.
